AccuFleet International Assists in Bringing Americans Home, Invests for Future

March 31, 2020 – Atlanta, GA – Even with the significant decrease in aviation traffic as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, AccuFleet International has continued service to the industry through its traditional service lines, including ground handling, cabin cleaning, exterior wash and upholstery service. Among its customers are the largest domestic airlines, foreign flag carriers, cargo companies, and even airports. More recently, the 39-year-old company, based in Houston, Texas, has begun ramping up service in disinfection and deep cleaning as well as providing special ground support for charter flights repatriating Americans from around the world.

Bringing Americans Home

AccuFleet assisted NEOS repatriate Americans from Italy in Atlanta on March 21st.

“When the airlines call, with no hesitation, the answer is YES we are willing and ready to assist in their efforts of reuniting families or importing/exporting much needed goods,” said Brian Buffington, general manager for AccuFleet’s Atlanta station.

In the last two weeks, his team has accommodated charter flights, often with less than two days’ notice, in welcoming U.S. citizens back home from locations such as Italy and Colombia, and assisted cargo carriers from around the world.

A recent article in The Hill publication stated that over 50,000 Americans may still be abroad attempting to get home.

AccuFleet teams have also remained busy in providing support for airlines which have transitioned their passenger aircraft to ship cargo to and from various locations in the United States and throughout the world. The company has wide body ground support in Atlanta (ATL) and narrow body ground support in Houston (IAH).

Deep Cleans and Disinfection

While AccuFleet has provided RON, deep cleans and tech wash services for years, earlier this month the company began regular RON (remain overnight) deep clean service to a large national carrier in multiple locations, including Atlanta (ATL), Phoenix (PHX), Philadelphia (PHI), and Orlando (MCO). AccuFleet will soon extend this service to provide disinfection services to the carrier and has begun investing in additional equipment and supplies to provide ultra-low volume (ULV) and electro-static application of EPA/FAA-approved, hospital-grade product to disinfect and secure aircraft from potential spread of the COVID-19 virus.

“While there’s been great challenge for service companies to maintain operations throughout the U.S., we are pleased that we have remained fully operational and still stand ready to assist both in regular service as well as in special opportunities to repatriate travelers.” said Alejandro “Alex” Cestero, president of AccuFleet International. “We are also proactively increasing our investment in the equipment and products our customers will need when the threat of COVID-19 subsides, greater requirements will exist for disinfection, and fleets return to the air.”
